Ms. Christina - Director
I have been working with children and families for most of my adult life. I received my BS in Child Development with a minor in Biology from Texas Woman's University in Denton. For two years I worked as a nutrition educator for Denton County where I taught children of all ages in their classrooms, as well as families and adults in a variety of settings. It didn’t take me long to find my home at Cornerstone! I’ve been fortunate enough to be part of the Cornerstone family in one way or another since 2005, most recently as a classroom teacher. As a parent of two children who have attended or are attending Cornerstone, I value the unique role parents play in this community learning environment. I’m excited to be using my experiences with families both inside and outside the CCP community in my new role as director. When I am not teaching, I also enjoy writing, reading, and outdoor adventures with my husband and two girls.
Ms. Emer - Teacher's Assistant
Before arriving in Denton, Texas, I worked in the UK as a high school teacher of French for 11 years. I moved here with my family in October 2006 and was lucky enough to find Cornerstone within two weeks of our arrival. I have been involved with this wonderful community ever since – as a parent, a board member, a substitute teacher and now as the teaching assistant. I have a BA Honors degree in French and European History and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education in Modern Foreign Languages. In my spare time, I enjoy supporting my husband’s rugby team (Denton RFC), reading and socializing with my friends and family.
Ms. Anna - 3-5's Teacher
I was born in upstate NY and moved to Texas when I was three. My family lived in Denton before moving to Plano in my 5th grade year. In 2008, I graduated from UT Austin with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I hold three teaching certifications, with a focus in early childhood education. I have held lead teaching positions in an inclusion classroom in Austin, Pre-k classrooms, and the UNT Child Development Lab School. I have over 11 years of experience working with preschoolers, elementary age kids and middle school students as a tutor, camp counselor, and teacher. In my spare time, I like to read, visit museums, and spend time with my family and friends.Working with children is my lifetime passion and I am very excited to join the Cornerstone Team!
Ms. Christy - 2-3's Teacher
I am a recent graduate of the University of North Texas and now have my Bachelor of Science in Development and Family Studies. During my college days, I was an active member of my sorority, managed to stay on the Dean's or President's List, and spent my last semester at Cornerstone as an intern. I was lucky enough to be hired as the teacher in the 2 and 3 year old classroom and am currently enjoying my new career and path in life! I have always loved school and am glad I did not have to miss it for long by taking on a new and different role in the classroom! When I am not teaching, I love to golf, scrapbook, cook, watch reality t.v. and spend time with loved ones.
